Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of rhythmic gymnastics on the mastery of basic movements of fifth-grade students at SDN Syekh Tubagus Abdullah. This research was motivated by the low mastery of students' basic movements, particularly in the aspects of coordination, flexibility, balance, and movement accuracy in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning. Rhythmic gymnastics learning is expected to improve students' basic movement abilities through a series of structured movements performed according to musical rhythms. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this study consisted of 37 fifth-grade students at SDN Syekh Tubagus Abdullah, selected using the total sampling technique. The research instruments were practical tests using observation sheets to assess the aspects of coordination, flexibility, balance, and movement accuracy, supported by interviews and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics. The results showed that the average pretest score of 10.89 increased to 14.59 in the posttest, with an average difference of 3.70. The normality test results indicated that the pretest data were normally distributed with a significance value of 0.168 (p > 0.05), while the posttest data were not normally distributed with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). Therefore, the data analysis was continued using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The Wilcoxon test results showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that rhythmic gymnastics has a significant effect on the mastery of basic movements of fifth-grade students at SDN Syekh Tubagus Abdullah.
