Abstract
Islamic Religious Education in the field of Aqidah and Akhlak at the Madrasah Aliyah plays a strategic role in shaping students who are faithful, God-fearing, and of noble character. However, technological advancements, social changes, and the complexities of adolescent life demand a deeper exploration and development of Aqidah and Akhlak curriculum materials so that they are not merely focused on the acquisition of knowledge but also on character building and the practice of Islamic values in daily life. This study aims to analyze the concept of deepening and developing Islamic Religious Education materials in the field of Aqidah and Akhlak at Madrasah Aliyah. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research. Data were obtained through a documentary study of various primary and secondary sources and were then analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify, interpret, and synthesize relevant concepts. The results of the study indicate that the deepening of Aqidah Akhlak material needs to be carried out through strengthening the understanding of the concept of faith, the study of the Qur’an and Hadith, reflection on values, and contextual learning that is relevant to the students’ lives. Meanwhile, the development of the curriculum is carried out through the integration of intracurricular, cocurricular, and extracurricular activities; the cultivation of religious culture; teachers serving as role models; and collaboration between madrasahs, families, and the community. The success of deepening and developing the Akidah Akhlak curriculum is influenced by a conducive educational environment, consistent practice, support from all stakeholders, and learning strategies that adapt to the changing times. Thus, the teaching of Akidah Akhlak in Madrasah Aliyah is expected to produce students who not only possess a sound understanding of religion but are also able to fully implement Islamic values in both their personal and social lives.
