Abstract

This study explores the design of the Deli Tobacco Health Museum in Medan City as a response to the scarcity of health education facilities that integrate historical heritage with contemporary innovation. Employing an analytical-descriptive approach, the museum’s design was developed through field data synthesis, comparative analysis of futuristic architecture, and inclusive spatial planning principles prioritizing universal accessibility. Findings reveal that a futuristic architectural concept featuring organic forms, high-tech materials (GFRP/GFRC), and interactive technology creates dynamic educational spaces while revitalizing the cultural heritage of the former Deli Tobacco Hospital site. The design not only addresses post-pandemic health awareness needs through multisensory experiences but also establishes a sustainable public space model harmonizing education, historical conservation, and urban identity. This research offers a replicable framework for culturally rooted healthcare infrastructure development in Indonesia, bridging architectural innovation with community well-being imperatives in rapidly urbanizing contexts.
