Abstract
The purpose of this study is to look into how fourth-semester students at Universitas Islam Riau perceive instructor feedback when learning English. Teacher feedback is essential in the language learning process because it informs students about their performance and encourages them toward reaching their learning goals. However, students' perceptions and responses to feedback may differ, influencing the effectiveness of feedback procedures. This study uses a qualitative research approach with open-ended questionnaires as the major data collection tool to investigate how students comprehend, experience, and respond to feedback offered by their professors. The findings are intended to reveal significant themes about students' comprehension of feedback, its perceived benefits, its impact on motivation, difficulties encountered, and expectations for successful feedback. The results aim to provide valuable insights for educators seeking to improve feedback delivery and enhance the overall quality of English language teaching and learning.
