PENERAPAN PELAKSANAAN KESELAMATAN DAN KESEHATAN KERJA (K3) PADA KARYAWAN DI PUSKESMAS MACINI SAWAH KOTA MAKASSAR
Abstract
Occupational safety training, work environment supervision, and hazard risk control are essential components of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH/K3). Healthcare workers are among the occupational groups with a high risk of exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals, and workplace accidents. Therefore, the implementation of OSH must be carried out optimally to protect workers from occupational diseases and other health problems arising in the workplace, as well as to protect people in the surrounding work environment. This study employed an in-depth interview method, focusing on the work environment and occupational health while integrating human and organizational aspects. The objective of this study was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH/K3) in the workplace, including its procedures, challenges, and efforts undertaken to maintain the safety and health of employees at the Maccini Sawah Community Health Center in Makassar City. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with six informants, consisting of the Head of the Community Health Center as the main informant and healthcare workers as key informants. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that the level of knowledge and implementation of OSH/K3 at the Maccini Sawah Community Health Center, particularly from the human aspect, is still considered inadequate. However, the organizational and work environment aspects are categorized as good. It is recommended that the health center improve the provision of OSH facilities and infrastructure, conduct routine supervision, organize regular OSH training programs, actively promote a safe and healthy working environment free from occupational hazards, and ensure that all employees consistently comply with OSH procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) according to established standards.Keywords
