Abstract
This study aims to describe the relational behavior and identify the influencing factors among female adolescents with same-sex attraction at SMP “X” Padang. A qualitative case study approach was employed. The research subjects consisted of two female students (S1/D and S2/F) who exhibited emotional attraction and intense interpersonal closeness toward same-sex peers, supported by five additional informants including peers, Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers, and a parent. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's data analysis model (data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification), with trustworthiness established through source triangulation and credibility criteria. Findings indicate that relational behavior is manifested across five core dimensions: (1) Emotional intimacy built upon comfort, openness, and emotional safety; (2) Social support characterized by reciprocal emotional and instrumental assistance; (3) Trust developed selectively based on secrecy preservation; (4) Companionship through frequent daily interactions; and (5) Conflict triggered by jealousy, third-party influence, and misunderstandings, managed through either emotional suppression or restorative communication. Influencing factors include family background, peer dynamics, social support, individual emotional regulation, and school environment. Implications for Guidance and Counseling services are detailed through tailored individual counseling, group guidance, group counseling, and information dissemination.References
