EDUKASI MASYARAKAT TENTANG BAHAYA PENYALAHGUNAAN NARKOBA SEBAGAI UPAYA PENCEGAHAN DI KELURAHAN MAJASARI KOTA PRABUMULIH

Abstract

Drug abuse is one of the social and public health problems that can have negative impacts on individuals, families, and the wider community. Prevention efforts are not solely the responsibility of the government and law enforcement agencies but also require active community involvement through increased knowledge and awareness of the dangers of drug abuse. This study aims to describe the implementation of community education on the dangers of drug abuse as a preventive effort in Majasari Subdistrict, Prabumulih City, as well as to explore community understanding, responses, supporting factors, and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Research informants were selected purposively based on their involvement in and knowledge of drug abuse education and prevention activities within the community. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The study is expected to provide an overview of the implementation of drug abuse education at the community level and the role of education in increasing public knowledge and awareness of the dangers of drug abuse. The findings are also expected to serve as input for the local government and community in developing sustainable strategies to prevent drug abuse.
