Substance abuse in adolescents continues to evolve following trends in social media, lifestyle, and ease of access to products. One of the issues currently receiving attention is the misuse of Nitrous Oxide (N₂O,). Legally, this substance actually has a legitimate use in the medical and food fields, but abuse by inhalation to obtain euphoria can pose serious pharmacological risks, such as hypoxia, impaired nerve function, functional vitamin B12 deficiency, impaired coordination, to the risk of disability. This community service activity aims to improve the literacy of students of SMK Muhammadiyah Cilacap about pharmacological hazards and legal aspects of nitrous Oxide substance abuse. Methods of activities in the form of educational seminars and case studies. The target of the activity was 300 students of SMK Muhammadiyah Cilacap. The results of the activity showed that participants were better able to recognize as risky products when misused, understand the health effects of N₂O, and know that the legal status of a substance is not the same as safe for free use. This activity affirms the importance of school-based prevention education to build a critical attitude of Gen-Z towards substance abuse trends.References
