Abstract

The Student Community Service program (KKN) is a form of community service that enables students to contribute by identifying local issues while simultaneously developing the community's inherent potential. Durenan Village possesses various assets, including a strategic location, MSME potential, a market, a favorable environment, and social capital. However, challenges remain, such as limited local information infrastructure, low adoption of digital media among MSME operators, and a need to raise community awareness regarding education, health, and environmental issues. This service initiative aims to optimize Durenan Village's assets and potential through the implementation of work programs tailored to community needs. The Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method was employed, comprising five stages: Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny. Data collection involved observation, interviews, documentation, and direct participation, engaging KKN students, village officials, MSME operators, and local residents. Implemented programs included awareness campaigns on anti-bullying and risky behaviors, responsible internet usage, appreciating the Rupiah and wise saving habits, and Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS). Additionally, support was provided for setting up QRIS payments and obtaining Business Identification Numbers (NIB), as well as creating promotional videos and MSME banners; physical improvements included installing directional signs, trash bins, and educational signage regarding waste decomposition. The results demonstrate that the ABCD approach fosters community engagement in utilizing village assets, yielding benefits across education, the economy, accessibility, health, digitalization, and the environment. Specifically, the installation of directional signs has facilitated navigation for residents and visitors in locating specific areas or hamlets while improving access to local information. Thus, the ABCD approach proves to be an effective method for community service, as it places community potential and participation at the core of the process—from initial planning through to program sustainability.
