Abstract

Step-up transformers increase generator output voltage before power is transmitted to the grid. Loading variations can affect load stability, losses, and transformer efficiency. This study analyzes the operational performance of step-up transformers using Load Profile Analysis (LPA), Load Loss Factor (LLF), and energy efficiency integrated through the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. Operational data from PT PLN Nusantara Power UP Gresik during January–June 2025 were analyzed for ST 1.0, ST 2.0, and ST 3.0. The results showed that ST 2.0 obtained the highest average preference value of 0.918, followed by ST 3.0 (0.895) and ST 1.0 (0.831). Therefore, ST 2.0 was identified as the transformer with the most optimal operating condition. The SAW method effectively supports transformer selection by considering multiple operational parameter.
