Abstract
This study aims to examine how environmental factors influence language acquisition in early childhood. The research focuses on identifying the role of interaction, linguistic input, and social context in shaping children’s language development. This study is based on a literature review of five sources, including empirical studies and theoretical perspectives, as well as real-life observations of two children aged four years old, Khalisa Alzah Nachira and Jehan. The findings indicate that the environment plays a crucial role in language acquisition. Children who are exposed to rich linguistic input and frequent interaction tend to develop better vocabulary and communication skills. Empirical evidence from previous studies shows that parental involvement and the quantity of language input significantly affect language development. In addition, theoretical perspectives highlight that language acquisition occurs naturally through social interaction and meaningful communication. The comparison between the two observed children demonstrates that differences in environmental conditions lead to differences in language development outcomes. A more diverse and interactive environment supports flexible communication skills, while a more structured environment promotes consistency in language use.
