Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of green purchasing at Hotel C based on the green purchasing indicators proposed by Pramesti et al. (2020). This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The research informants consisted of the Purchasing Manager, Purchasing Supervisor, and Receiving staff who are directly involved in the procurement process. The implementation of green purchasing was analyzed based on two dimensions, namely supplier selection and the 3R’s in procurement process, consisting of reduce, reuse, and recycle. The results show that, in the supplier selection dimension, the hotel has implemented most of the indicators, particularly supplier selection based on environmental criteria, supplier evaluation, environmentally friendly product development capabilities, and the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) aspects. However, several indicators have not been implemented optimally, including eco-labelling, the use of environmentally friendly packaging, ISO 14000 certification, and a purchasing policy specifically involving green partners. In the 3R’s in procurement process dimension, the principles of reduce and reuse have been implemented through reducing single-use plastic and reusing glass bottles, while the recycle principle has not yet been implemented. Overall, green purchasing has been implemented at the hotel, but further development is needed to ensure more consistent implementation.
