Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the internet network based on Ubiquiti UniFi Access Points at the Public Service Mall of Pontianak City using Quality of Service (QoS) parameters and Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurements. The research employed a walk test method conducted at 23 measurement points distributed throughout the study area. The analyzed parameters included throughput, delay, jitter, packet loss, and RSSI, which were subsequently evaluated based on the TIPHON standard. The measurement results showed an average throughput of 1.697 Mbps, delay of 5.057 ms, jitter of 5.064 ms, and packet loss of 0.017%, which generally fall within the “good” category according to the TIPHON standard. The RSSI values ranged from −65 dBm to −42 dBm, indicating signal quality from fair to very good. The findings demonstrate that the Wi-Fi network at the Public Service Mall of Pontianak City is capable of providing stable service and meets the established quality standards. However, several areas experienced performance degradation due to the distance from the access points and the presence of physical obstacles. Therefore, optimizing access point placement and maximizing the utilization of the 5 GHz frequency band are recommended to improve the uniformity of network quality across the entire service area.
