Abstract
Maluku Province, as an archipelago, has unique geographical characteristics. This condition often poses a challenge in equitable development and connectivity between regions. Before the construction of the Taeno-Wakal road, accessibility to Wakal Village in Leihitu District, Central Maluku Regency, was quite limited. Travel could only be done via longer routes, namely via the Alang crossroads for 82.3 km, the Liang crossroads for 62.9 km, and the Hunuth crossroads for 18 km. Recognizing this urgency, the Ambon City government collaborated with related technical agencies, namely the Ambon XVI National Road Implementation Center, to initiate the Taeno-Wakal road construction project. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the dominant impact of the Taeno-Wakal road construction. The construction of this road reduces the total route (Taeno Crossroads) to only 12.9 km. Using a quantitative approach, primary data was obtained through questionnaires, while secondary data was obtained through documentation studies, namely village demographic data. Descriptive statistical analysis was conducted to determine the average value of each variable studied to determine the dominant impact felt by the community. The results of this study indicate that the most significant impact was on the facilities and infrastructure variable, which received the highest average value of 23.16.
