KOMBINASI TERAPI DZIKIR DAN METODE GENGGAM LIMA JARI MENURUNKAN KECEMASAN PADA PASIEN PRE-OPERASI

Abstract

Preoperative anxiety is a common psychological response experienced by patients before surgery and may affect their physical and psychological readiness. Non-pharmacological interventions are needed to help reduce anxiety in a safe and simple manner. This study aimed to determine the effect of a combination of dhikr therapy and the five-finger grip method on the anxiety levels of preoperative patients at Bogor Islamic Hospital. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 39 preoperative patients selected using total sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS). Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Paired Sample t-Test at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that before the intervention, all respondents (100%) experienced moderate anxiety, with a mean score of 69.31. After receiving the combination of dhikr therapy and the five-finger grip method, 37 respondents (94.9%) were categorized as having no anxiety/normal levels, while 2 respondents (5.1%) experienced mild anxiety, with a mean score of 31.15. The Paired Sample t-Test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in anxiety levels before and after the intervention. The combination of dhikr therapy and the five-finger grip method was effective in reducing preoperative anxiety and can be considered as a non-pharmacological nursing intervention.
