ANALISIS PELUANG DAN ANCAMAN IMPOR DAGING SAPI AUSTRALIA KE INDONESIA DALAM MENGHADAPI FLUKTUASI HARGA DI AUSTRALIA. (2026). Musytari : Jurnal Manajemen, Akuntansi, Dan Ekonomi, 25(8). https://doi.org/10.2238/gzn1p727
Abstract
Beef imports from Australia play a crucial role in maintaining the availability of animal protein in Indonesia. Australia is the primary supplier of feeder cattle and beef, contributing more than half of Indonesia’s national demand. However, this heavy reliance on imports creates vulnerabilities when price fluctuations occur in Australia. Recent data shows that Indonesia’s import quota for feeder cattle reached 534,000 head in 2025, while feeder cattle prices surged to US$4.56/kg in 2026. This situation has the potential to increase domestic beef prices, trigger food inflation, and reduce consumer purchasing power. This article analyzes opportunities such as supply stability, technological cooperation, and benefits from bilateral trade agreements, as well as threats including import dependency, price volatility, and technical trade barriers. The analysis emphasizes the need for strategies to strengthen domestic cattle production, diversify import sources, and pursue active trade diplomacy to safeguard national food security and enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s livestock sector. References
