Abstract

The rapid growth of digital recruitment has transformed how Generation Z searches and applies for jobs. Job portal applications have become one of the primary sources of job vacancy information, enabling job seekers to access information regarding compensation and work environment more easily. This study aims to analyze the influence of compensation and work environment on job application intention among Generation Z job portal users at Universitas Negeri Jakarta. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to Universitas Negeri Jakarta students from the 2022 cohort who actively use job portal applications. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that compensation has a positive and significant effect on job application intention, with a T-statistic value of 3.882 and a P-value of 0.000. Furthermore, the work environment also has a positive and significant effect on job application intention, with a T-statistic value of 3.853 and a P-value of 0.000. These findings suggest that compensation and work environment information available on job portal applications are important considerations for Generation Z in determining their intention to apply for jobs. This study provides practical implications for companies to enhance compensation transparency and present a positive work environment in digital recruitment practices.
