PENERAPAN ADAPTIVE REUSE DALAM PELESTARIAN CAGAR BUDAYA MUSEUM WAYANG, JAKARTA

Abstract

Indonesia has many heritage buildings from the Dutch Colonial period which hold a lot of history. However, over time there are several buildings that have experienced damage either due to age, natural disasters or changes in function. One of them is the Jakarta Wayang Museum, which has undergone repeated renovations due to these factors. This museum is one of the oldest museums in Jakarta. Its existence can be used as a concrete example of how to apply the adaptive reuse strategy approach in preserving cultural heritage buildings, using quantitative descriptive methods to analyze how this approach can be applied in efforts to preserve cultural heritage buildings. The results of the analysis show that the application carried out was to carry out a re-finishing process on the elements in the building and some of them underwent structural changes to ensure stability and maintain the sustainability of the building. Through this analysis, it is hoped that the adaptation of the Jakarta Wayang Museum building will be in line with the visual character of the Dutch colonial cultural heritage so that this cultural heritage building will maintain its authenticity and be able to function well without losing the historical value contained therein.
