RELASI HIPONIMI BAHASA MELAYU SAMBAS DALAM FILM KEMBANG POLARIA

Abstract

This study focuses on the hyponymic relations of Sambas Malay in the film Kembang Polaria. The objectives of this study are to identify and describe the forms of hyponymic relations of Sambas Malay in the film Kembang Polaria, to identify and describe the functions of hyponymic relations of Sambas Malay in the film Kembang Polaria, and to identify and describe the implementation of the results of the analysis of hyponymic relations of Sambas Malay in Indonesian language learning through the development of local wisdom-based teaching modules on descriptive text material for grade VII of junior high school. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative research form. The data collection technique used in this study is the technique of listening and taking notes. The results of this study indicate that there are 20 forms of hyponymic relations of Sambas Malay in the film Kembang Polaria, consisting of 9 direct hyponymic data, 4 hierarchical hyponymic data, and 7 thematic hyponymic data. In addition, 20 functions of hyponymic relations were found which include the function of forming a hierarchy of meaning, structuring the accuracy of lexical meaning, and grouping vocabulary conceptually. The results of this study can also be used as local wisdom-based Indonesian language teaching materials that help students understand the relationship between the meanings of words and improve their ability to describe objects in detail and contextually.
