Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the implementation of the Easy World of English (EWE) website as a learning medium for enriching the English vocabulary of fourth-grade students at SDN Cipocok Jaya 2. This study employed a qualitative approach. Data were collected through three classroom observation sessions and one semi-structured interview session involving an English teacher and ten fourth-grade students. The data were analyzed descriptively to identify the implementation process, students’ vocabulary learning experiences, and challenges encountered during the use of EWE. The findings showed that the teacher implemented EWE by combining its multimedia features, particularly pictures, written vocabulary, and audio pronunciation, with interactive activities such as vocabulary relay games, question-and-answer sessions, quizzes, and worksheets. The use of EWE helped students understand, pronounce, remember, and apply new vocabulary through visual and auditory support and repeated practice. Most students demonstrated greater enthusiasm, active participation, and improved confidence in learning vocabulary, although some students still experienced difficulties in retaining and using newly learned words. The findings also revealed several challenges, including unstable internet connections, limited technological facilities, classroom management, differences in students’ abilities, and students’ lack of confidence in using English. Overall, EWE supported vocabulary enrichment when integrated with appropriate teacher g uidance, interactive learning strategies, and adequate technological support. These findings are consistent with the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning, particularly the principles of Dual Channels, Limited Capacity, and Active Processing.
