GAMBARAN PEMANFAATAN BUKU KIA PADA IBU BALITA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PAHANDUT KOTA PALANGKARAYA
Abstract
Background: The Maternal and Child Health Book (MCH Book) is a medium for communication, information, education, and recording maternal and child health services. Optimal utilization of the MCH Book can help mothers monitor children's health, growth and development, and basic immunization. However, ownership of the MCH Book is not always followed by optimal utilization. Objective: To determine the description of MCH Book utilization among mothers of toddlers in the working area of Pahandut Public Health Center, Palangka Raya City. Methods: This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive design. The population consisted of 371 mothers with toddlers, with a sample of 79 respondents. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error. Data were collected using a questionnaire through structured interviews and analyzed using univariate analysis. Results: All respondents were aged 20–35 years, totaling 79 respondents (100%). Regarding education, most respondents had senior high school education, totaling 43 respondents (54.4%), while based on employment status, most were unemployed/housewives, totaling 43 respondents (54.4%). MCH Book utilization showed that 52 respondents (65.8%) utilized the MCH Book, while 27 respondents (34.2%) did not utilize it. Conclusion: Most mothers of toddlers in the working area of Pahandut Public Health Center utilized the MCH Book as a medium for information and monitoring children's health, including basic immunization.Keywords
