PROFIL KLINIKO PATOLOGI LESI GRANULOMATOSA EKSTRA PARU DI RSUD RADEN MATTAHER JAMBI
Abstract
Indonesia ranks second globally in tuberculosis burden, yet information regarding extra-pulmonary granulomatous lesion manifestations remains very limited, creating complex diagnostic challenges. This study aimed to analyze the prevalence, anatomical distribution, as well as histopathological and clinical characteristics of extra-pulmonary granulomatous lesions at Raden Mattaher Regional General Hospital Jambi. A descriptive retrospective research design was employed using a total sampling technique on medical record data and pathology archives from the 2021 to 2024 period. Results from 122 patients revealed that the majority of sufferers were aged over 15 years (73.8%), female (54.1%), non-smokers (93.4%), and had underweight and normal nutritional status (41% each). The most frequent anatomical location was found in the gastrointestinal tract (44.3%). Microscopically, the predominant feature was granulomatous (79.5%), with a definitive anatomical pathology diagnosis of tuberculosis reaching 60.7%. Specimen proportions were divided into extra -pulmonary tuberculosis with granulomatous appearance (47.5%), suspected tuberculosis with granulomatous appearance (32%), extra-pulmonary tuberculosis with classic tubercle appearance (13.9%), and suspected tuberculosis with classic tubercle appearance (6.6%). In conclusion, extra-pulmonary granulomatous lesions are dominated by adults, females, and gastrointestinal locations. The high proportion of non-specific granulomatous features underscores the importance of a strong clinical and pathological correlation to optimize diagnostic establishmentKeywords
