Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between self-esteem and assertive behavior among non-commissioned officers (Bintara) of the Ditsamapta Directorate at Polda X. This study employed a quantitative correlational research design involving 100 non-commissioned officers (Bintara) of the Ditsamapta Directorate at Polda X as the research sample. The participants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and the Rathus Assertiveness Schedule (RAS). Data were analyzed using the Pearson ProductMoment correlation test with SPSS version 26.0 for Windows. The results revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between self-esteem and assertive behavior. The correlation coefficient was 0.722 (r = 0.722), indicating a strong positive relationship between the two variables. These findings suggest that higher levels of self-esteem are associated with higher levels of assertive behavior among the personnel. Conversely, lower levels of self-esteem are associated with lower levels of assertive behavior.References
