TINDAK TUTUR ILOKUSI DALAM LIRIK LAGU SAMBAS KARYA BULYAN MUSTHAFA: KAJIAN PRAGMATIK

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms and functions of illocutionary speech acts in the song lyrics of Skarya Bulyan Musthafa through a pragmatic analysis. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with 'listen-and-note' data collection techniques, the study analyzes five song lyrics as the primary data source. The results reveal 38 instances of illocutionary speech acts categorized into five types: assertive (24 instances), directive (4 instances), commissive (4 instances), expressive (4 instances), and declarative (2 instances). Assertive speech acts are the most dominant type, serving to convey information, describe situations, and represent the social and cultural values of the Sambas Malay community. Additionally, the study identifies the use of indirect speech acts, which reflect the politeness principles and local wisdom inherent in Sambas Malay culture. These findings demonstrate that regional song lyrics serve not only as a medium of entertainment but also as an effective means of communication for conveying moral messages, cultural values, and local identity. This research is expected to contribute to the development of pragmatic studies and serve as an alternative teaching resource for literature appreciation based on local wisdom in schools.
