Abstract

Two-way communication is a process of information exchange that involves active interaction between the communicator and the recipient. This study aims to examine the implications of two-way communication on social interaction and individual rationality. In two-way communication, each party has the opportunity to express opinions, provide responses, and build mutual understanding. The method used in this study is a literature review, involving the collection of various theories and research related to interpersonal communication, social interaction, and rational thinking. The results of the study indicate that two-way communication plays a crucial role in fostering harmonious social relationships, enhancing openness, and strengthening individuals’ ability to understand others’ perspectives. Furthermore, two-way communication also fosters the development of critical, reflective, and rational thinking through the process of discussion and the exchange of ideas. Thus, two-way communication serves not only as a means of conveying information but also as a medium for fostering effective social interaction and the development of rational thinking in society.
