Abstract

Research on resilience in women in the sandwich generation continues to develop along with increasing attention to mental health issues, family well-being, and the burden of caregiving facing women who play dual roles. However, studies that map the development of research on this topic are still limited. This study aims to analyze the development trends of scientific publications on resilience in women in the sandwich generation using a bibliometric approach. The study uses a bibliometric method with Google Scholar data sources that can be accessed through the Publish or Perish (PoP) application. Data collection was carried out using relevant keywords in the publication range of 2016–2026, then analyzed using VOSviewer software version 1.6.20 through visualization networks, overlays, and density. The results showed that 660 documents were obtained with a total of 3,087 citations. The number of publications has increased significantly since 2022 and peaked in 2025. Bibliometric analysis shows that research on resilience in women in the sandwich generation is developing multidisciplinary with links to the themes of resilience, women, mental health, social support, family, and finance. The findings of this study provide an overview of research developments, dominant themes, and future research opportunities, which can serve as references for researchers and practitioners in the fields of psychology, social welfare, and family studies.
