FAKTOR PENENTU INTENSI MAHASISWA UNTUK BERINVESTASI CRYPTOCURRENCY : INTEGRASI PRINSIP KEPATUHAN SYARIAH DALAM MODEL UTAUT

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of constructs within the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model—specifically performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions—as well as Sharia compliance principles, on the intention to invest in cryptocurrency among active undergraduate accounting students in Malang. A quantitative approach utilizing Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed. Data were collected via questionnaires distributed to 107 undergraduate accounting students who had previously taken or were currently enrolled in a course on Sharia financial accounting or a similar subject. The results indicate that performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and Sharia compliance principles have a positive and significant effect on the intention to use. These findings underscore that strengthening performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and Sharia compliance principles is essential to increasing students' intention to invest in cryptocurrency. Conversely, effort expectancy was found to have no significant effect on the intention to use, suggesting that ease of use is not a primary factor in shaping the intention to invest in cryptocurrency.
