Abstract
Generation Z workers in the manufacturing industry face various work pressures stemming from production targets, shift work systems, and monotonous work routines. These conditions have the potential to cause physical and psychological fatigue, prompting workers to seek simple ways to maintain emotional balance, one of which is through listening to music. This study aims to analyze the role of music as a means of self-healing for Generation Z workers in the manufacturing industry. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study research type. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique consisting of one key informant and four supporting informants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and non-participant observation. The results indicate that music is used as a means of self-healing because it is easily accessible, flexible, and able to help workers cope with work pressures caused by production targets, shift systems, and monotonous routines. Music plays a role in fulfilling cognitive needs by helping reduce mental stress and increase concentration; affective needs by reducing stress, improving mood, and increasing work motivation; and social needs by creating emotional connectedness through song lyrics that are considered representative of workers' lived experiences.References
