PERANCANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI AKUNTANSI PENJUALAN TUNAI BERBASIS MICROSOFT ACCESS PADA PT DINDA KARYA SABPUTRI

Abstract

This study discusses the design of a cash sales accounting information system at PT Dinda Karya Sabputri, a company distributing subsidised 3-kg LPG cylinders in Palembang. The company previously recorded its cash sales manually and later through Microsoft Excel, yet the process remained fragmented, causing recording errors, delayed sales reports, and a risk of data loss. Data were gathered through interviews, direct observation, and documentation with the company's administration staff. The design process followed several stages: needs analysis, database design, table and relationship structuring, and the creation of queries, input forms, and printed reports using Microsoft Access. The resulting application integrates product data, customer data, incoming and outgoing stock, and sales transactions into a single database, and automatically calculates transaction totals, updates inventory, and generates sales receipts as well as periodic sales reports. Testing showed that the system recorded transactions accurately and shortened the time needed to prepare sales reports compared with the previous manual and spreadsheet-based method. This system is expected to help PT Dinda Karya Sabputri manage its cash sales data more efficiently, accurately, and in a well-organised manner.
