Abstract
The presence and mobility of foreign nationals in Indonesia are closely related to the implementation of immigration functions, particularly immigration supervision. Supervision cannot be carried out effectively by immigration authorities alone because the activities and whereabouts of foreign nationals may be connected with various sectors and government agencies. Therefore, the Foreigner Supervision Team (TIMPORA) has an important role as a forum for inter-agency coordination. This article examines the effectiveness of foreigner supervision through TIMPORA in the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands. The research uses an empirical juridical method with a statutory and conceptual approach. The data were obtained through observation during the internship period, documentation, and literature study. The results show that TIMPORA supports foreigner supervision through coordination meetings, exchange of information, joint supervision, and follow-up of findings. Its effectiveness is influenced by the intensity of coordination, availability and integration of information, clarity of authority, human resources, and the use of technology. Although the existing mechanism provides a basis for collaborative supervision, optimization is still needed, particularly in integrating information and ensuring consistent follow-up. The effectiveness of TIMPORA therefore depends not only on the legal framework but also on the active participation and coordination of the agencies involved.
