KONFLIK SOSIAL DAN EMOSIONAL, KAJIAN SOSIOLOGI SASTRA DALAM NOVEL FREE STYLE KARYA DINARA

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of social conflict and emotional conflict contained in Dinara's novel Free Style, and to analyze the relationship between the two forms of conflict through a study of literary sociology. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a literature study approach, namely collecting and analyzing data in the form of text quotations in the novel related to the research topic. The results of the study indicate that in the novel there are two main types of conflict, namely social conflict that arises due to the clash between individual desires and norms, expectations, and rules that apply in the family and community environment, and emotional conflict that manifests as inner turmoil, doubt, feelings of injustice, and conflicting feelings as a result of pressure received from the external environment. These two types of conflict are closely related, where social conditions are the main trigger for the emergence of emotional turmoil in the characters. Through the depiction of these conflicts, the novel Free Style functions as a reflection of the reality of life, depicting the dynamics of the relationship between individuals and their social environment.
